How social networks support the Ukrainian team at the 2020 Olympic Games

The XXXII Summer Olympic Games have started in the capital of Japan, Tokyo, and Ukraine has already managed to get 2 bronze medals. To support our team, the Ukrainian application Reface created a series of videos with athletes. In the videos, they transformed into various superheroes from popular films. This helps a lot in SEO promotion of sports and athletes.

Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ukrainian Institute and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, NOC, Reface launched a campaign in support of the national team. Ukrainians and foreigners who support athletes from Ukraine are encouraged to write words of support for the Olympians on social networks with the hashtag #hearttokyo and #OlympicUA.

"All the Ukrainian team needs now is our support. We wanted to show in the video that for us they are already heroes, so that everyone can see how cool they are - each in their own category. We are sure that every post on social networks will be valuable to them and every warm word and video you make. Ukrainians have already proven how cool they can and are able to root for the football team and, I hope, the support for the Olympic team will be no less. It will be cool if, thanks to Reface technology, athletes will feel that we are all with them #heartTokyo ", said Dmitry Shvets, co-founder and CEO of Reface.

“The Olympic Games in Tokyo are a great opportunity to promote a positive image of Ukraine in the world. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to help the team of the world-famous Ukrainian startup Reface achieve this goal in a creative and innovative way. The Ministry and foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine around the world have undertaken to strengthen the campaign in support of our Olympic team, so that it reaches as large an international audience as possible,” noted Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. 

To support the team on social networks, Reface have developed instructions. It recommends:

• share videos and write posts of support on social networks
• do not forget to tag athletes in posts and official pages of the Olympic Games
• add official hashtags #OlympicUA and #heartTokyo
• official hashtags for the games – #Tokyo2020 #Olympics2020
• through the Reface application in the Ukraine Olympics category, create your own animated videos with athletes, tag them and federations and share the videos on your social pages.

Support matters most

Ukrainian athletes receive a lot of words of encouragement from other Ukrainians, in particular from celebrities. Yulia Sanina, together with her team The Hardkiss, supported the athletes on the opening day of the competition.

“Today! Opening of the Summer Olympics! This year, 157 athletes will represent Ukraine in Tokyo. We wish them good mood and victories! We are proud of you! You are cool!"

In the comments under the publication, Sanina’s subscribers express support for Ukrainian athletes and wish them victories.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky also did not stand aside and congratulated the Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid, who brought Ukraine its first medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

 “Congratulations to Daria Bilodid on winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo! I believe that this award will make a good start to the success of Ukrainian Olympians in competitions! We are proud of Daria’s perseverance! Your Olympic gold is still ahead!” Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
