Egypt confirms resumption of charter flights

Egypt has confirmed the resumption of charter flights from Russia to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Statistics are opening again in favour of holidaymakers. The information about the imminent opening of Egypt was confirmed on Tuesday 21.04.2021 and sources from the Egyptian side. Abdel Moez, media advisor at the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow, officially told the Sputnik news agency that the resumption of charter flights between Russia and the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada is planned for the very near future.

Moreover, now Egypt may become the only mass destination for travel agencies, allowing them to earn normal income, because the other main driver of sales - Turkey for Russia, is now closed until 1 June, and there is no guarantee that from the beginning of summer it will be reopened - it all depends on the situation with the coronavirus, as well as political and military relations between Turkey and Russia. However, both tour operators and airlines have a vested interest in the reopening of Egypt. For the latter, the situation has been critical for a year now: there is simply nowhere to put idle aircraft without tourists - almost all popular foreign destinations are closed, but you have to pay for their leasing every month, regardless of whether they are in operation or idle.
